About this site
OracleTuts is a project created by Exillum.
OracleTuts is owned and created by TJ Abrahamsen (that’s me!), a Senior Software Engineer with Oracle experience since 1997. I work with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL on a daily basis, and am currently employed with a large Multi Level Marketing company in Utah.
I originally created the blog, OraBlogger.net, but in end of January 2012, I chose to discontinue this effort, and pursue new possibilities both for YOU as the reader/user, as well as myself.
If you do not already know, “Tuts” is a short slang (often used on the Internet) for the the word “Tutorials”.
My goal with OracleTuts, is for it to become a go-to-place for Oracle SQL and PL/SQL learning. I am doing my best to be a “down-to-earth-teacher”, meaning that I aim to teach even technical stuff in a way that even a novice will not be “lost-in-translation”.
About me
I am originally from Norway, where I grew up. In 2003 I married a beautiful redhead from Utah, and moved to the United States the same year. Together with my wife, I own a large property, where we spend all our spare time.
Among other things, I have created a three mile road myself along the mountainous area of our property, using our own excavator. It was a large project, and it was fun sometimes, and other times a total pain in the butt. A few times I thought my last day had come, especially when my excavator started sliding down the steep mountain side… I managed to brake it a bit with the bucket and it’s teeth, and it ended up stopping against some large Aspen trees. I can from the bottom of my heart say that I have been blessed by the Lord and protected by His angels in a lot of ways…
My wife and I are hard workers, and we almost never have a real vacation. Our kind of “vacation” is working on our property… We are both very goal-driven.
Yeah, I know…I have a LOT more hair now, and beard…
Other interesting things about me:
- I love bicycling on my mountain bike
- My wife and I try to eat as much vegan/raw food as possible. We stay away from dairy, and eat meat (chicken turkey, or fish) occasionally.
- I love blogging, and have a couple of other blogs as well. One of them is called Back To Nature Living.
- I would MUCH rather live out in the nature, among the birds, trees, creeks…than live in the city.
